Grooved Aleut Paddle

The grooved Aleut paddle like its ridged cousin is a good choice for general kayak cruising. Perhaps we should think of this paddle more as a double ridged paddle than a grooved paddle. The double ridge like the single central ridge stabilizes flow of water around the paddle and prevents flutter, leaving you free to put all your energy into forward propulsion.

This paddle is based on a paddle in the Etholen Collection in Helsinki, Finland. It behaves very similarly to a single ridged Aleut paddle of comparable dimensions.
